ABOUT AOFA

Anibi Omotoyosi Foundation has birth an initiative which is the ANIBI OMOTOYOSI FOUNDATION ACADEMY (AOFA). AOFA is an initiative aimed at taking children off the street to learn new skills, get them empowered and give them quality education so they can have a better and more sustainable future.

OBJECTIVES

• To provide access for every vulnerable child who desires to learn a new skill for their personal growth and development.
• To get every vulnerable child off the street so they can have a better and more sustainable future.
• To give every vulnerable child access to free quality education

OUR GOAL

To build a nation where vulnerable children are well equipped with free skills and quality education for self development and build their confidence in their abilities.

THE PROBLEM

Most parents cannot afford to further the education of their children beyond Secondary School Education due to poverty. A lot of children wander around the community after their Secondary School Education and this increases the chances of them becoming beggars, hawkers, touts and also increases the risk of any abuse. Many cases of unwanted pregnancy among adolescent girls, cultism, stealing/robbery and so on has damaged the lives of our adolescents making them not to achieve their dreams.

THE SOLUTION: Success depends largely on what we do as a person and acquiring a skill will set us apart from the rest. In lieu of this, we decided to start AOFA. A four (4) month Vocational/Academic training session which will expose them to scalable vocational/entrepreneurial skills and also offer them internship opportunities afterwards. After the internship, we obtain a JAMB Form for the four (4) best graduating students and the best of them will be given a scholarship to further his/her education in the University.

BENEFITS

Acquiring a skill nowadays has become more lucrative in line with education. It is considered very essential which helps to improve lives in so many ways. This is why we are catching them young at a tender age so they tend not to become a liability to themselves and the society at large.

• Earning a living through self-employment which will help them sort some required bills during their study.
• Reduces corruption in the society like stealing, robbery, cultism, thuggery and beggars.
• Improves self-confidence and self-esteem.
• Reduces dependency on the society and the government.
• Improves their knowledge, way of thinking, problem-solving and quality of lives.

PROPOSED SKILLS

The students will be trained on skills that will develop them personally and also help with the growth of our nation at large. They are considered technical because they are very expensive to learn which as an organization, we are offering a free training and education. These skills are but not limited to;

• Photography & Cinematography
• Mobile Photography
• Website Development
• Mobile App Development
• Sound Design & Audio Production
• Data Analysis
• Graphic Design

BENEFICIARIES CRITERIA

This is considered has important because the successful student will further his/her education into the University.  

1. Vulnerable children (Both Genders)
2. Age range: 15 to 17 years
3. SSCE Certificate holder with good grades
4. A recent secondary school graduate
5. Desires to learn a new skill

Someone once said "If your dream doesn't scare you, then it's not big enough". AOFA has gotten a free space, however, a lot of work still has to go into making this dream a reality.
